Dell Technologies announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Yvonne McGill, will step down after two years in the role. David Kennedy, a senior vice president with the company, will take over as interim CFO. The transition comes after McGill’s nearly three-decade career at the firm.
Interim Appointment and Successor Search
Kennedy, who has spent 27 years at Dell, currently leads Dell Global Business Operations and Finance. The company confirmed that McGill will continue to serve as an adviser through the current quarter ending in October. At the same time, Dell has already started the process of searching for her permanent successor.
Market Impact and Financial Guidance
Despite the leadership change, Dell reaffirmed the financial guidance it issued in late August. However, shares fell by 1.2% in extended trading following the announcement, even though the stock had already gained 6.7% earlier this year.
