Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 (DPG33) will host the Middle East’s first government pavilion at Gamescom 2025, the world’s largest gaming event. The showcase will take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 20 to 24 and marks a major milestone for the region’s gaming sector.
The pavilion will highlight Dubai’s talent pool, advanced infrastructure, and investment opportunities for developers, entrepreneurs, and production companies. Representing the emirate at the event will be the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).
Expanding Dubai’s Gaming Industry
Launched in 2023, DPG33 is designed to contribute AED 3.67 billion ($1 billion) to Dubai’s GDP and create 30,000 jobs by 2033. The program emphasizes governance, talent development, global partnerships, industry support, and community engagement. These pillars aim to position Dubai among the world’s top 10 gaming hubs within the next decade.
Since its launch, Dubai’s gaming sector has expanded rapidly to include more than 350 companies. Around 74 percent specialize in game development, supported by major global partnerships with companies such as Sony, Nvidia, Riot Games, and Xsolla. Additionally, DMCC’s Gaming Center alone is home to over 140 companies, representing nearly 40 percent of the local gaming industry.
Global Stage at Gamescom 2025
Gamescom 2025 is expected to draw record attendance at Cologne’s Koelnmesse exhibition center, following last year’s turnout of 335,000 visitors from 122 countries. Dubai’s participation will reinforce its role as a rising global hub for gaming and digital creativity.
Through its presence, the emirate seeks to attract investors, foster international collaborations, and promote opportunities for gaming professionals. This strategic involvement will also showcase Dubai’s commitment to innovation, economic diversification, and the creative economy.
