DEWA Unveils AI-driven Legislation Agent for Network Safety

DEWA launches AI-powered Legislation Agent to improve network safety and compliance.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched the ‘Legislation Agent’, an AI-powered system designed to strengthen network protection while supporting swift regulatory decision-making. This intelligent assistant delivers real-time guidance, helping employees align with both local and international safety standards. As part of DEWA’s broader digital transformation journey, this system aims to increase operational efficiency and enhance overall governance.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, said, “The ‘Legislation Agent’ is one of the smart innovations developed as part of our efforts to integrate AI into our operations.”

Enhancing Efficiency Through Smart Innovation

The Legislation Agent is more than a reference tool. In fact, it improves internal workflows by offering a centralized digital resource for regulatory and legal guidance across DEWA’s operations. According to Al Tayer, “It enhances the efficiency of internal processes and provides a unified digital reference for regulations and legislation related to DEWA’s areas of work, including the protection of the general network. It also reduces decision-making time, which will positively affect work outcomes.”

Importantly, the system speeds up decision-making, allowing teams to respond faster in safety-critical scenarios. As a result, DEWA is better equipped to meet regulatory obligations with consistency and precision.

Developed jointly by DEWA’s Innovation and the Future Division and the Legal Affairs Department, the system plays a critical role in addressing complex technical issues. By analyzing legislation and regulations in real time, it enables more informed and proactive decisions.

Moreover, this launch supports DEWA’s long-term vision of building a smart, resilient, and responsive utility infrastructure. By embracing AI at this level, DEWA continues to lead the way in digital governance and sustainable operations across Dubai.
