The second day featured the Dubai FinTech Summit, Future Sustainability Forum, IPEM Future Dubai, Capital Exchange and InsureTek Middle East. Meanwhile, discussions explored climate transition financing, institutional investment strategies and emerging financial technologies.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the week supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33. The agenda aims to establish Dubai among the world’s four leading financial centres.
Sustainable Finance and Climate Investment Take Centre Stage
The Future Sustainability Forum, themed ‘Shaping Greener Economies’, brought together policymakers, investors and industry leaders to examine sustainable economic development.
Discussions focused on transition finance, climate adaptation funding, ESG reporting and sustainable investment strategies. Additionally, participants explored climate technology, impact investing and public-private partnerships supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 ambitions.
During the forum, DIFC announced significant progress in its ‘1 Million Learners’ initiative. Its 29 founding partners have collectively reached more than 130,000 learners in 2026.
Launched in May 2025 under the DIFC Sustainable Finance Catalyst, the programme aims to educate one million people by 2030. Specifically, it seeks to strengthen knowledge of sustainability and sustainable finance.
Furthermore, DIFC is developing a Total Impact Framework with a certified B Corporation strategy and design consultancy. The framework will assess economic, social, environmental and governance outcomes through defined indicators and consistent reporting tools.
Consequently, the initiative will move beyond participation figures to measure its wider contribution to sustainable development. A future impact report will also examine its socio-economic benefits and long-term effectiveness.
Alya Al Zarouni, Chief Operating Officer of DIFC Authority, said:
” Sustainability is increasingly integral to the future competitiveness and success of financial services. Dubai has moved decisively from ambition towards action, with DIFC bringing together financial institutions, investors, innovators and talent to help mobilise sustainable capital and develop the capabilities the industry needs. With our ‘1 Million Learners’ partners having already reached more than 130,000 learners this year, our focus now turns to measuring the outcomes and value this creates. Through initiatives including the DIFC Sustainable Finance Catalyst and Future Sustainability Forum, we are creating momentum that can support the transition to a more resilient economy while reinforcing Dubai’s role in shaping the future of finance.”
Meanwhile, the Gulf Transition and Sustainable Finance event examined regional financing structures, climate risk frameworks and regulatory reporting requirements.
The programme also includes the Global Ethical Finance Initiative’s GCC 2006 Ethical Finance conference on Friday. Its discussions will focus on financial resilience and sustainability across the Gulf.
Dubai Strengthens Its Position in Global Private Markets
Alongside sustainability discussions, Dubai Future Finance Week highlighted the emirate’s growing importance in global private capital markets.
Following a preview event in December 2025, IPEM Future Dubai hosted its inaugural edition in the emirate. The gathering connected private equity firms, private credit investors, fund managers and institutional capital providers.
Through a live television studio format, participants examined long-term capital formation, alternative investments and general partner–limited partner (GP–LP) relationships.
Moreover, IPEM’s expansion into Dubai reflects the emirate’s increasing appeal as an international investment destination. The event highlighted opportunities for private capital deployment across different industries and market segments.
Similarly, Capital Exchange – The Collab GP-LP Programme facilitated direct discussions between general partners and limited partners. Participants explored institutional allocations, investment strategies and co-investment opportunities.
Meanwhile, InsureTek Middle East examined the insurance industry’s evolving landscape, including emerging technologies and changing market requirements.
The day’s programme also included the MENA Banking Awards, recognising excellence in corporate and investment banking.
Together, these events strengthened dialogue between financial institutions, asset managers and investors seeking new opportunities across global markets.
Space Technology and AI Open New Commercial Opportunities
Beyond traditional finance, Dubai Future Finance Week showcased the commercial potential of space-derived data and artificial intelligence.
DIFC Innovation Hub highlighted progress at Space for Earth Labs, an initiative developed with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC).
The platform aims to transform satellite information and AI capabilities into practical solutions for businesses and government organisations.
Its inaugural Geospatial Accelerator, delivered with programme partner RELM Insurance, attracted 73 applications from 24 countries.
Following the selection process, international scale-ups partnered with five UAE organisations to develop commercial proof-of-concept projects.
These partners include Buro Happold, Dubai Civil Defence, FADA, part of EDGE Group, Liva Insurance and the National Maritime Navigation Centre.
The projects address challenges across maritime safety, insurance, construction and public safety. Additionally, the participating organisations presented their pilot concepts at the Dubai AI Festival in October.
By connecting international technology companies with UAE institutions, the accelerator supports the commercial adoption of space-based innovation.
Furthermore, the programme contributes to the UAE National Space Strategy 2030 and Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Both initiatives seek to strengthen technological capabilities, economic diversification and innovation-led growth.
Dubai Future Finance Week continues until 6 November 2026, with further discussions covering Islamic finance, family wealth and digital assets.
Upcoming executive dialogues will also explore tokenisation, banking innovation and new investment opportunities.
As the programme progresses, Dubai continues to strengthen its role as a meeting point for global finance, emerging technologies and institutional capital.
