Audio-Technica Sound Burger (2022 Version)

The renowned Sound Burger portable turntable is returning from Audio-Technica. The updated version includes a few new features to make it more accessible to contemporary listeners after almost 40 years and countless copies. Beginning with Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in lithium-ion battery with USB-C charging, the 2022 Sound Burger is equipped with these features. To put it another way, you won’t need to find three C-cell batteries to run the new design. According to Audio-Technica, the 2022 Sound Burger can be used continuously for roughly 12 hours before it needs to be recharged.

The updated model comes with Audio-ATN3600L Technica’s stylus already installed, but you can also connect it to a sound system via an RCA wire.

Audio-Technica also unveiled a brand-new, high-end manual belt-drive turntable with a distinctive see-through casing and the Sound Burger.

McIntosh MDA200 D/A Converter

The MDA200 D/A Converter from McIntosh enables customers to enhance the capabilities of an analogue audio system with high-end digital music. The McIntosh DA2 Digital Audio Module, previously only available as an integrated D/A converter in the award-winning MA12000 Integrated Amplifier and C2700 and C53 Preamplifiers, powers the MDA200.

A 32-bit, 8-channel, next-generation Quad Balanced digital-to-analog converter powers the DA2 in the MDA200 (DAC). This audiophile-grade DAC has a better overall harmonic distortion and dynamic range. As the coax and optical inputs can decode digital music up to 24-bit/192kHz, the DA2 provides high-quality digital audio playing. The USB interface supports native playback up to DSD512 and DXD up to 384kHz. Seven digital audio inputs are available on the MDA200: two coaxial, two optical, one USB, one MCT (to work with the company’s MCT series of SACD/CD Transports), and one HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) connector that is just for audio.

Yamaha YH-5000SE

Audeze, HiFiMAN, Dan Clark Audio, Focal, Sennheiser, and ZMF have dominated the high-end headphone industry for the past ten years, with older companies like Sony, Fostex, and Beyerdynamic also competing. One-hit wonders have also had their fair share of success in the market before either disappearing or moving quite swiftly into the mainstream.

Yamaha held a prominent position in the market thanks to the creation of its Orthodynamic driver, which is practically regarded as one of the first planar designs. To avoid feeling left out, the company concentrated its efforts elsewhere and eventually unveiled its first line of wireless headphones.

The YH-5000SE features a new version of their Orthodynamic driver, which has been integrated into a new headphone chassis that seemingly can’t decide if it is part of the Star Wars galaxy or the latest iteration of Steampunk.

Razer Wolverine V2 Pro

The Wolverine V2 Pro, a brand-new wireless controller for the PC and PlayStation 5, has been unveiled by Razer. The Wolverine V2 Pro will be available after 2023, even though it will cost more than Sony’s DualSense Edge. The DualSense Edge, on the other hand, will begin delivering from Sony on January 26, 2023. In addition, Razer has effectively used the PlayStation license with Wolverine V2 Pro, which maintains the original DualSense colour scheme while adding a few capabilities.

On the one hand, Razer Chroma, the business’ RGB lighting system, is supported by the Wolverine V2 Pro. On the other hand, Razer gives you complete control over critical bindings, vibration motor strength, and trigger or analogue stick sensitivity via a smartphone app. The 8-way D-pad on the controller also uses microswitches for precise haptic feedback. It is worth noting that the Wolverine V2 Pro is incompatible with the PlayStation 4 or any Xbox console.
