Zoho Corp Sees Leadership Transition as Sridhar Vembu Steps Down as CEO, Taps Colleagues for Key Roles

As Sridhar Vembu, the co-founder and CEO of Zoho Corp, transitions out of the top leadership role, he will assume the position of Chief Scientist. This strategic move marks a new chapter for the software company, with Shailesh Kumar Davey taking over as the CEO. This leadership change aims to strengthen Zoho’s capabilities in addressing pressing technological challenges while maintaining its competitive edge.

Vembu will continue to focus on R&D initiatives, complementing his work with his rural development mission. Under Vembu’s guidance, the leadership team will be divided across core business divisions. Co-founder Tony Thomas will lead Zoho’s US operations, Rajesh Ganesan will manage the ManageEngine division, and Mani Vembu will oversee the Zoho.com division.

Vembu’s commitment to sustainable development remains unchanged, and his shift to a research-intensive role aligns with the company’s broader priorities. “The future of our company relies heavily on the success of our R&D efforts,” he emphasized. “I am eager to tackle this new challenge and contribute to the company’s continued growth.”
