xAI Launches Grok Business and Enterprise Tiers

Enterprise AI data security workflow

xAI has expanded its enterprise push with the launch of two new subscription tiers aimed at workplace use of its Grok AI models. The move reflects growing competition in enterprise AI, even as adoption across large organisations remains uneven.

New Grok tiers target teams and enterprises

The company has introduced Grok Business and Grok Enterprise to serve different organisational needs. Grok Business focuses on small and mid-sized teams, while Grok Enterprise targets larger organisations with more complex requirements. Through a single platform, both tiers offer access to xAI’s most advanced models with higher rate limits. In addition, the enterprise tier adds features such as custom single sign-on, directory synchronisation, and expanded audit and security controls. Both subscriptions became available globally on December 31.

Data access, security, and workflow support

Grok Business allows customers to connect internal tools such as Google Drive and share AI-generated insights securely with teammates. As a result, teams can collaborate without exposing information beyond approved users. The platform supports permission-aware access and document-level citations, which help trace outputs back to source material. Moreover, Grok’s models can run agentic searches across large document collections, supporting tasks like legal analysis and financial modelling. For enterprise customers, xAI provides encrypted data handling and isolated storage environments to separate enterprise workloads from consumer systems.

Market context and challenges ahead

Although enterprise AI tools continue to launch at a pace, broader adoption remains limited. Several studies indicate that many large companies struggle to scale AI beyond pilot projects. At the same time, Grok has faced past behavioural issues on consumer platforms, which added scrutiny to its broader rollout. Nevertheless, xAI continues to position its enterprise offerings alongside rivals such as Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic. Looking ahead, xAI plans further upgrades, including deeper app integrations, customisable agents, and improved collaboration features.
