When can we expect the release of ChatGPT 4, the new AI language model
According to recent reports, Microsoft has announced that an updated version of the ChatGPT tool developed by OpenAI will be released sometime this week. During an event last week, Andreas Braun, chief technical officer of Microsoft Germany, stated that “We will introduce GPT-4 next week,” and mentioned that it would include multimodal models with video capabilities, which could offer completely new possibilities for users.
The current version of ChatGPT is text-based, and it is unclear how the video will be integrated into the new version of the tool. Microsoft has not officially announced a timeline for the update, but the company’s CEO, Satya Nadella, is set to host an event on March 16 to discuss “reinventing productivity with AI.”
Microsoft has already announced AI updates for its Windows operating system and search engine Bing but has not yet announced updates for its popular Office productivity suite, which includes Word and Excel. OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, plans to release additional tools that will give users more control over the generative AI system while improving the models for both general and specific uses, according to its CEO, Sam Altman.
Since its launch in November, ChatGPT’s popularity has skyrocketed, with traffic to the site reaching over 1 billion visits, up from 616 million in January, according to Similarweb estimates. OpenAI has even launched a subscription tier of ChatGPT where users can pay $20 per month for more reliable services. Microsoft has invested over $11 billion in OpenAI as part of its partnership with the company, and it seems that they are looking to continue pushing the boundaries of AI and productivity tools with this upcoming update.
