The UAE Ministry of Sports has officially launched Sportifai, an advanced artificial intelligence-powered platform, designed to support the National Sports Strategy 2031. Originally introduced in March 2025 through a partnership with the UAE National Olympic Committee, Sportifai represents a strategic move toward smarter, more efficient governance in the sports sector.
The launch took place during the “Driving Digital Transformation in the UAE Sports Sector” workshop. This event gathered key figures, including Ministry officials, Sports Federation presidents, and administrative staff. Together, they explored how Sportifai aims to strengthen digital governance, streamline service delivery, and improve athlete performance across all levels.
Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, emphasized the platform’s potential. According to him, Sportifai encourages collaboration among National Sports Councils, Federations, and Clubs while advancing performance metrics. In his words, the system supports the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme by making services more accessible and reducing administrative complexity.
Empowering Performance Through Technology
Sportifai delivers a fully integrated digital ecosystem. It leverages AI to offer real-time data governance, performance analysis, and talent identification tools. These features enable stakeholders to make better decisions and optimize training outcomes. Additionally, the platform supports both elite and emerging athletes by centralizing data and analytics.
Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, described Sportifai as a technological partner for Federations and Clubs alike. He noted that the platform will equip professionals with modern tools for data-driven decision-making and performance assessment. Furthermore, it is set to foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the sports tech domain.
Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Development and Competitiveness, highlighted Sportifai’s role in easing administrative tasks. By doing so, it allows Federations to focus more on competitive goals. Importantly, the system will help enhance athlete performance and ensure sustainability through improved talent identification.
Building a Connected Sports Ecosystem
During the workshop, two sessions introduced Sportifai’s core features. One targeted Federation presidents, explaining strategic goals and integration methods. The other focused on technical staff, emphasizing initiatives like the Talent Identification Platform. This component will track athletes from youth to Olympic levels using unified digital records, contributing to a national database.
Sportifai’s development is backed by key partners such as the UAE National Olympic Committee, the Committee for Elite Sports, and the Committee for Talent and National Sports Support. Additionally, private tech companies will offer data analytics and innovation solutions. Collectively, these stakeholders will help drive Sportifai’s long-term success and elevate the UAE’s global sports competitiveness.
