UAE–Spain Advance Space Cooperation with New Strategic MoU
Space42 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hisdesat Servicios Estratégicos to explore new commercial opportunities in Earth Observation and Satellite Communications. The move strengthens ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation between the UAE and Spain, and it also supports joint ambitions to boost innovation, knowledge exchange, and development in advanced space technologies. As a result, both sides aim to integrate their capabilities while accelerating market growth across current and upcoming space assets.
The agreement seeks to enhance offerings for government, defense, and commercial users. Moreover, it encourages co-development of next-generation satellite solutions that can support a wider range of strategic and commercial needs. The partnership aligns with the expanding relationship between the two nations in technology, investment, and trade. In addition, both countries continue to invest in climate monitoring, Earth Observation, and secure communications to build greater resilience across the global space economy.
Focus Areas for Joint Evaluation
Under the MoU, the companies will jointly assess opportunities in three priority segments: Earth Observation, wideband SATCOM, and narrowband SATCOM. Through these efforts, they expect to advance integrated services that meet evolving customer demands. Furthermore, they intend to combine their technical strengths to accelerate the deployment of new applications and increase overall market competitiveness.
Growing European Engagement
Space42 maintains an active presence in Europe and continues to support a range of projects in Spain. These initiatives include environmental monitoring, maritime domain awareness, and smart mobility applications.
