UAE leads in mobile internet speed with 179.61 Mbps

According to the latest rankings by Speedtest.net, the UAE has once again emerged as the leader among 137 countries in terms of mobile internet speed, with an impressive average data rate of 179.61 Mbps. This web service is widely considered to be one of the most reliable and authoritative sources for internet speed tests, providing a comprehensive analysis of internet access performance metrics such as latency and connection data rate.

The UAE has held this top position for mobile internet speed since at least 2020, showcasing the country’s ongoing commitment to providing its citizens and residents with high-quality internet connectivity. In August 2022, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) also released a report highlighting the UAE’s leading position in several digital life indices. The country ranked first globally in the use of social media, first in the Arab region in e-commerce, second globally and first in the Arab region in the use of the internet, and ninth globally. The report also noted that the UAE was the first country in the region to establish a digital government in 2001.

Among other countries, Qatar ranked second with an average mobile internet speed of 160.33 Mbps, followed by South Korea, Norway, and Denmark, rounding up the top 5 with average mobile internet speeds of 138.46 Mbps, 131.23 Mbps, and 123.66 Mbps, respectively.
