The UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched the NOVA project to accelerate AI-driven institutional transformation across the country’s education sector. The initiative supports the UAE’s national strategy to expand artificial intelligence adoption across government while strengthening digital innovation. Consequently, the Ministry aims to improve operational efficiency and deliver smarter public services.
NOVA also forms part of the Ministry’s broader vision to create an integrated education ecosystem powered by advanced technologies. Moreover, the project will help convert data into actionable insights that support faster decisions and better educational outcomes.
AI to Improve Education Services
The Ministry will use AI and advanced analytics to enhance services for students, teachers, schools, and parents. Therefore, education leaders can make more informed decisions using reliable, real-time data.
The project also seeks to streamline institutional workflows across the Ministry and the wider education sector. In addition, NOVA will strengthen coordination between organizations through integrated digital processes and smart systems.
Sarah Al Amiri, UAE Minister of Education, said that, “The NOVA project embodies MoE’s commitment to implementing the directions of the UAE leadership to incorporate AI and advanced data technologies into government operations. The NOVA project represents a strategic shift toward a more agile business model, whose true value lies in investing in people and developing national capabilities to use AI responsibly and effectively.”
“AI-driven digital transformation is no longer an optional tactic but a national and institutional necessity, as it empowers the education sector to keep pace with constant changes,” Al Amiri noted.
Building a Smarter Education Ecosystem
According to the Ministry, NOVA builds on years of investment in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, data management, systems development, and workforce capability building. As a result, the initiative creates a stronger foundation for long-term innovation across the education sector.
Mohammed Al Qasim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, remarked that the NOVA project builds on a series of digital transformation initiatives and investments implemented by the Ministry in recent years, including programs focused on artificial intelligence, systems development, data management, and workforce capability building.
Al Qasim added that the project seeks to unify institutional workflows across the Ministry and the wider education sector by creating a work environment supported by reliable data, smart systems, and advanced digital services.
Supporting the UAE’s Digital Future
The Ministry stated that NOVA aligns with the UAE’s vision of building an innovation-led education system that prepares future generations with essential digital skills. Furthermore, the initiative contributes to the country’s long-term competitiveness in education and technology.
As AI adoption continues to grow across the public sector, NOVA positions the Ministry of Education to deliver more efficient services while supporting sustainable digital transformation. Therefore, the project represents another milestone in the UAE’s ambition to become a global leader in AI-enabled government services.
