Toyota Debuts Three New GR Models At Formula Drift

Toyota unveils three new GR models at Formula Drift, showcasing performance and style.

Ahead of the 2025 Formula Drift kickoff in Long Beach, Toyota has unveiled three striking additions to its GAZOO Racing (GR) lineup. The new releases include the limited-run GR86 Yuzu Edition, the GR Supra MkV Final Edition, and a camouflaged GR Corolla “Development Vehicle.” Together, they showcase Toyota’s continued focus on performance, style, and motorsport heritage.

Leading the reveal is the GR86 Yuzu Edition. As its name suggests, the car takes inspiration from the Japanese citrus fruit, wearing a bold yellow finish. Based on the GR86 Premium trim, it features matte black 18-inch wheels and black Ultrasuede seats with vibrant yellow accents. While it certainly catches the eye, the performance upgrades are equally impressive. Standard Brembo brakes and SACHS dampers sharpen its driving dynamics without compromising the playful nature of the original model. Furthermore, a GR-branded cat-back exhaust and aero body kit are available for those seeking a sportier edge. Limited to just 860 units in North America, it offers a 2.4L boxer engine delivering 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Honouring Legacy with the GR Supra MkV Final Edition

Next in line is the GR Supra MkV Final Edition. This model marks the final chapter for the fifth-generation Supra, which will end production in Spring 2026. Toyota is sending it off in style with larger Brembo brakes, improved suspension tuning, and a carbon fibre ducktail spoiler that enhances both looks and aerodynamics. It also gains front wheel arch flaps and reinforced body rigidity. Under the bonnet, the 3.0L turbocharged inline-six produces 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. As a result, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Additionally, a GT4-style appearance pack will be available in Fall 2025, featuring matte colour options and racing-inspired details. Both manual and automatic variants are on offer, including performance systems such as Adaptive Variable Suspension and Intelligent Manual Transmission.

GR Corolla Development Vehicle Teases What’s Next

Finally, Toyota showcased the GR Corolla “Development Vehicle,” which remains wrapped in camouflage but is clearly nearing production. Though official specs are still confidential, visible changes hint at serious upgrades. New fender and hood vents suggest cooling improvements, while an adjustable rear spoiler points to refined aerodynamics. Torque distribution is expected to see enhancements as well. Currently undergoing final tuning, this model is slated for a full reveal in fall 2025—pending final approval from Akio Toyoda himself.
