The World Government Summit in Dubai will inaugurate a Global Climate Tech Forum

The World Government Summit (WGS) and the US-based think tank, the Atlantic Council, will jointly host the inaugural Global Climate Technology and Policy (Climate Tech) Forum during the WGS 2023 summit, which will take place from February 13th to 15th. The theme of the WGS 2023 summit is “Shaping Future Governments.”The Climate Tech Forum is a global platform that aims to address energy and technology policy issues and the role of international cooperation in finding solutions to the challenges posed by climate change. The forum will provide a platform for a global dialogue on the crucial role of governments in identifying feasible and innovative energy and technology solutions to address climate challenges.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Managing Director of the World Government Summit Organization, stated that the forum aligns with the UAE’s “Year of Sustainability” and reflects the country’s commitment to sustainable economic development and climate neutrality.

Frederick Kempe, President and CEO of the Atlantic Council, said that the forum will bring together top decision-makers, government officials, civil service organizations, and experts to discuss energy security and the potential of large-scale climate technologies. The gathering will provide an opportunity for government leaders and policymakers to exchange ideas and perspectives on these key topics.

WGS 2023 is expected to attract the participation of 20 presidents, including Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt; Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey; Macky Sall, President of Senegal and Chairperson of the African Union; Mario Abdo Benitez, President of Paraguay; and Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan.
