Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has unveiled the Dubai AI Academy during the inaugural Dubai AI Week 2025. The academy, a key initiative by the Dubai Future Foundation, aims to drive the mainstream adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) education across critical sectors, setting Dubai at the forefront of AI innovation. This initiative will play a pivotal role in equipping leaders with the skills required for an AI-driven world.
A Hub for AI Education and Leadership
The Dubai AI Academy is located within the Dubai AI Campus, the largest cluster for AI and advanced tech companies in the region. Positioned within the DIFC Innovation Hub, the campus will provide a collaborative environment for AI development. The academy, in collaboration with global institutions like Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and Udacity, will offer a range of tailored AI training and certification programs.
These programs will cater to various sectors, including government employees and business leaders. The courses will focus on critical skills such as strategic decision-making, ethical considerations in AI, and adapting to rapidly evolving technology landscapes. One example is the “AI for Civil Service” program, aimed at equipping government employees with AI knowledge for better service delivery.
Supporting Dubai’s Ambitious AI Goals
The launch of the academy aligns with Dubai’s broader goal of positioning itself as a global AI hub. By expanding AI education, the Dubai AI Academy will contribute to the emirate’s aim of doubling AI’s impact on its GDP. This initiative supports the objectives of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI) and strengthens Dubai’s vision to become a leader in AI and technology.
Furthermore, the academy’s development is a critical part of the DIFC 2030 Strategy, fostering talent in Dubai’s AI, FinTech, and innovation sectors. By offering cutting-edge training, the academy will significantly boost productivity in both the public and private sectors, ensuring Dubai remains at the forefront of global AI advancements.
