Saudia Introduces Google’s Find Hub to Improve Baggage Recovery

Saudia has introduced Google’s Find Hub to improve how lost or delayed baggage is tracked and recovered. As a result, passengers now have an additional tool to support airline teams during the recovery process.

This feature allows travelers to share the location of their luggage using compatible tracker tags or Bluetooth accessories. Specifically, users can generate a secure, temporary link and attach it to their baggage claim report. Consequently, airline staff can access real-time location data and act more efficiently.

Moreover, the shared link provides time-limited access, which helps ground teams identify and retrieve baggage faster. At the same time, passengers can stop sharing their location at any moment, and the link automatically expires after seven days.

Improving Transparency and Passenger Control

In addition, the tool complements existing baggage recovery systems rather than replacing them. Therefore, passengers gain greater visibility into the process while maintaining full control over their personal data.

Furthermore, this rollout positions Saudia among the first airlines globally to adopt such technology. As a result, it highlights a broader push toward digital transformation and more connected travel experiences.

Privacy-Centered Design and Future Outlook

Importantly, privacy remains a central part of the system’s design. Location data is shared only with the airline and only for a limited period. Additionally, access remains restricted to baggage recovery purposes and ends automatically once the process concludes or the user disables sharing.

Overall, the feature introduces a more transparent and efficient approach to handling lost baggage. Consequently, it could set a new standard for how airlines integrate smart tracking into customer service operations.
