In a strategic move to improve service accessibility, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a new driver training and licensing facility in Hatta. This development comes in partnership with Emirates Driving Institute and marks a significant step in bringing essential public services closer to remote communities.
Until now, Hatta residents often had to travel long distances to access driver training and licensing services. However, this new branch removes that barrier, offering a full suite of services locally. From opening traffic files to taking driving tests and issuing licences, the centre is fully equipped to handle both motorcycle and light vehicle applicants whether they prefer manual or automatic transmissions.
Moreover, the facility’s operation hours are designed with convenience in mind. It is open from Sunday to Friday, between 8:15 AM and 11:00 PM, though it pauses for Friday prayers and a daily service break. On Saturdays, registration services are available from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Boosting Local Access and Supporting Regional Growth
According to Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, this launch underlines the RTA’s commitment to supporting community development. “We aim to make driver licensing more accessible while enhancing the quality of life for residents,” he said. He also noted that this initiative ties in with the broader goal of promoting Hatta as both a livable region and a tourist destination.
By collaborating with the private sector, the RTA not only improves efficiency but also raises service standards across Dubai. This facility now becomes the 27th RTA-approved licensing centre, reinforcing the city’s robust infrastructure for driver training.
Strategic Vision and Community Impact
The RTA’s expansion reflects a long-term vision of inclusivity and innovation. As Dubai continues to grow, extending essential services to outer areas like Hatta ensures that development is both balanced and sustainable. Residents can now benefit from timely, accessible services without compromising on quality.
Additionally, aligning this initiative with tourism development enhances Hatta’s appeal while meeting practical needs. In effect, this new centre bridges the gap between convenience and strategic growth.
