Mukesh Ambani has announced the launch of Reliance Intelligence, a new subsidiary of Reliance Industries. The venture aims to build India’s AI backbone through large-scale infrastructure and enterprise solutions. India has been looking to strengthen its position in the global AI race, which has so far been led by the United States and China.
Reliance Intelligence will focus on creating an ecosystem for researchers, engineers, and developers to transform ideas into practical AI applications. The initiative is designed to support industries such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and education with scalable AI tools and services.
Strategic Partnerships with Google and Meta
Reliance has partnered with Google Cloud to develop a dedicated AI cloud infrastructure in India. The first phase includes a large data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. By using Jio’s extensive network and Reliance’s energy assets, the infrastructure will provide businesses and government bodies with advanced AI services.
In addition, Reliance has entered a joint venture with Meta to deliver enterprise AI solutions in India and selected international markets. The collaboration will focus on generative AI applications for sales, customer service, finance, and IT. With a combined investment of approximately $100 million, Reliance will hold a majority stake while Meta will manage platform integration.
Expansion and Future Plans
Reliance intends to take Jio Platforms to international markets while also preparing for an initial public offering expected in 2026. The company is exploring further collaborations, including a potential partnership with OpenAI, which recently expanded its presence in India.
Beyond enterprise services, Reliance continues to roll out consumer-facing AI initiatives. JioAICloud offers free storage for millions of users, while JioFrames smart glasses and AI-powered features on JioHotstar showcase the company’s push into AI-driven consumer technologies. These developments underline Reliance’s ambition to combine enterprise innovation with mass adoption in India and beyond.
