Parkin Introduces Variable Parking Tariff Policy in Dubai

Parkin launches a variable parking tariff policy to enhance efficiency in Dubai.

Dubai’s Parkin Company PJSC has confirmed the implementation of the Variable Parking Tariff Policy, set to take effect on 4th April 2025. Introduced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), this policy will apply both peak and off-peak tariffs to all public parking spaces and a portion of private developer parking areas.

The policy differentiates between Standard Parking and Premium Parking. Premium Parking covers high-demand areas, particularly those near public transport hubs, with clearly marked signage indicating tariff details. Recent discussions between Parkin and the RTA resulted in an increase in the proportion of Premium Parking within Parkin’s public portfolio to 40%, up from the previously announced 35%. The remaining public parking spaces will remain under the Standard Parking category.

Parkin: Changes to Public and Private Parking Tariffs

As of the end of 2024, Parkin operated 3,200 spaces across six multi-story car parks (MSCPs). The hourly rate for these MSCP spaces remains AED 5, applicable 24/7 throughout the year. However, customers exceeding eight hours of parking within a 24-hour period will be charged a maximum fee of AED 40.

Parkin’s private developer portfolio, consisting of 19,200 spaces, will also see changes. Approximately 35% of these spaces—previously expected to be exempt—will now be subject to the new tariff system, aligning with public parking regulations. A detailed breakdown of the tariffs applicable to developer spaces is available in the appendix.

Special Tariffs for Grand Events

To manage high traffic volumes during major events, a special tariff of AED 25 per hour will apply from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM in the vicinity of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). This tariff will cover approximately 200 parking spaces and will be enforced on key event days.
