NVIDIA is preparing to launch its highly anticipated AI mini-supercomputer, the DGX Spark, later this month. According to the Taiwan Economic Daily, several AIB partners, including ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte, will introduce their own models. Although initially announced last year, the DGX Spark is now ready for retail, bringing professional-grade AI performance to a smaller form factor.

Unlike traditional bulky supercomputers, the DGX Spark delivers an astonishing 1,000 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of AI compute. It features the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, combining the NVIDIA Blackwell GPU with fifth-generation Tensor Cores and FP4 support. This setup is ideal for inference tasks and fine-tuning smaller models. While the device’s complete specs remain mostly under wraps, early previews suggest serious computing muscle packed into a compact shell.

At Computex 2025, NVIDIA showcased third-party DGX Spark designs, including Gigabyte’s EdgeXpert MS-C931 and MSI’s AI TOP ATOM. Although the designs appeared modest, showfloor representatives emphasized the high-end performance under the hood.

Not Just for Reference Models

Interestingly, NVIDIA has not limited the DGX Spark to its own reference versions. Instead, the company allowed its AIB partners to enter the space, which has already created excitement in the enthusiast and professional communities. As a result, multiple variants are expected to hit the market this month, giving consumers several options to choose from.

Moreover, the company’s decision to open the platform to partners demonstrates a shift toward accessibility in AI hardware. This move could reshape how professionals and advanced users interact with AI workloads outside of enterprise environments.

Powerful Hardware, Premium Price

While the DGX Spark offers groundbreaking performance, it also comes with a steep price. At $4,000, it will be well beyond the reach of casual users. However, professionals in need of local AI compute may find it a reasonable investment. The device reflects NVIDIA’s growing influence in AI computing, particularly as it pushes powerful capabilities into smaller, more accessible formats.

Although full performance benchmarks have yet to be released, early impressions from Computex indicate the DGX Spark could set a new standard in desktop AI hardware. As availability begins this month, the AI and tech communities will be watching closely.
