Nemetschek SGBA strategic partnership signing

Nemetschek Group has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Green Building Alliance (SGBA). The agreement aims to advance digitalisation and sustainability across Saudi Arabia’s built environment.

Moreover, Nemetschek said it is the first technology company to establish a strategic collaboration agreement with SGBA. (

SGBA is a Saudi nonprofit organisation focused on sustainable buildings, resilient communities and environmentally responsible development. It also serves as Saudi Arabia’s official representative to the World Green Building Council.

The partnership supports Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative. Therefore, both organisations will focus on connecting digital technologies with sustainable building practices across the Kingdom.

Partnership Targets Digital and Sustainable Construction

Under the agreement, Nemetschek and SGBA will pursue joint market development activities. They will also organise industry events, conferences, awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

In addition, the organisations will promote digital approaches across the building lifecycle. This includes planning, design, construction and building operations.

The partnership will also cover workshops, training programs, seminars and knowledge-sharing sessions. These activities will address building lifecycle management, asset performance optimisation and digital twin technologies.

Furthermore, both organisations plan to identify pilot projects and practical use cases. These projects will examine how digital technologies can improve operational efficiency and support net-zero objectives.

Data-driven decision-making will form another area of cooperation. Consequently, the partners intend to explore ways technology can support better decisions throughout the lifecycle of buildings and infrastructure.

Knowledge Exchange Across Saudi Arabia’s Built Environment

The agreement will also encourage the exchange of global best practices and technical expertise. Meanwhile, SGBA will bring its network across Saudi Arabia’s built-environment ecosystem to the collaboration.

The organisations expect this work to connect government entities, developers, consultants and contractors. Academic institutions and sustainability professionals will also form part of the wider stakeholder network.

Nemetschek Managing Director for the Middle East, Eng. Muayad Simbawa, said the collaboration will support greater industry engagement and technology adoption. He also highlighted the importance of combining sustainability and digitalisation across the building lifecycle.

Similarly, Dr Mohammed Al-Surf, Founder and Chairman of SGBA, said the partnership would connect international technology expertise with local industry engagement. According to SGBA, this approach can support knowledge, skills, innovation and practical sustainability initiatives.

The collaboration also reflects growing attention to digital tools such as building information modelling and digital twins. SGBA has separately highlighted these technologies as areas for improving sustainable design, construction and facility management.

MoU Supports Saudi Vision 2030 Goals

Nemetschek and SGBA will continue exploring practical initiatives under the agreement. In particular, their work will focus on sustainable development, digital transformation and improved building performance.

Nemetschek said its international experience in digital transformation will complement SGBA’s local industry network. As a result, the organisations aim to strengthen cooperation across Saudi Arabia’s construction and facilities ecosystem.

The agreement adds another technology-focused collaboration to Saudi Arabia’s wider efforts to modernise its built environment. At the same time, the partnership links digital construction technologies with sustainability objectives under Vision 2030.

Both organisations are expected to develop further workshops, knowledge initiatives and potential pilot applications as the collaboration progresses. Therefore, the MoU provides a framework for testing how digital tools can contribute to more efficient and sustainable buildings across the Kingdom.
