Microsoft has enhanced its Microsoft 365 Copilot by adding Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4 and Claude Opus 4.1 to its suite of AI tools. The update aims to give users greater flexibility and choice when working with AI-powered assistants.

Customers can now access the Claude models in Researcher and Copilot Studio. This integration allows them to switch smoothly between OpenAI and Anthropic models for various workplace tasks, ensuring more tailored solutions for different needs.

Streamlined Access Through Frontier Program

The rollout of Claude models is happening via the Frontier Program for Microsoft 365 Copilot-licensed customers who opt in. Access is managed through the Microsoft admin centre, making it easier for organizations to activate the new tools.

Additionally, the Claude models are hosted in external, Microsoft-managed environments and are governed by Anthropic’s terms and conditions. This approach enhances transparency while keeping operations compliant with both companies’ policies.
