Lenovo Opens Riyadh HQ and Saudi Factory, Boosting Non-Oil GDP

Lenovo Regional Headquarters in Al Majdoul Tower

Lenovo has confirmed that it will establish its Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in Riyadh’s Al Majdoul Tower. The move includes unveiling a new executive leadership team for Saudi Arabia. According to the company, these initiatives could add up to $10bn to the Kingdom’s non-oil GDP by 2030.

The headquarters will act as Lenovo’s regional hub, bringing together R&D, retail, marketing, partnerships, and customer engagement. Because Al Majdoul Tower already hosts ministries, PIF entities, and major technology firms, Lenovo will be positioned at the heart of Saudi Arabia’s digital and industrial transformation.

Manufacturing Facility and Economic Impact

Lenovo’s expansion is closely tied to its partnership with ALAT, a Public Investment Fund–owned company. In February 2025, both organizations broke ground on a 200,000sqm advanced manufacturing facility in the Riyadh Integrated zone. Operated by the Special Integrated Logistics Zone, the plant is expected to be operational by 2026.

The facility will produce millions of “Saudi Made” devices. Together with the new headquarters, it is projected to contribute significantly to Vision 2030 goals. Matt Dobrodziej, Senior Vice President and President, Lenovo EMEA, said: “The confirmation of Al Majdoul Tower as the future location of Lenovo’s Regional Headquarters, alongside the appointment of our new executive leadership team for Saudi Arabia and RHQ, marks a major milestone in our regional strategy.”

He added: “Through our strategic partnership with ALAT and investment in advanced manufacturing, we are proud to contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by supporting industrial diversification, accelerating digital transformation, and enabling sustainable economic growth.”

Leadership and Long-Term Commitment

To lead this growth, Lenovo appointed three executives: Lawrence Yu, Head of Regional Headquarters; Giovanni Di Filippo, Vice President and General Manager for Saudi Arabia; and Zoran Radumilo, Chief Technology Officer. Their combined expertise in partnerships, market growth, and advanced technologies positions Lenovo to deliver on its regional strategy.

The RHQ will also support a flagship retail store, a VIP customer center, and new innovation hubs. In addition, Lenovo plans to deepen relationships with enterprise and government clients in key sectors including energy, telecom, finance, and smart cities. With both the headquarters and the factory, Lenovo is signaling its long-term role as a partner in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and industrial diversification.
