Apple has rolled out the iOS 26.2 Release Candidate for eligible iPhones, moving the update one step closer to full availability. Users can now install it over the air, and the build includes several system-wide enhancements designed to improve usability and personalization.
Refined Sleep and AI-Enhanced Media Tools
Sleep tracking has been recalibrated to better reflect real-world rest quality. Instead of the previous “Excellent” grade, the highest score is now labeled “Very High,” with adjusted thresholds that offer more accurate results. At the same time, Apple Podcasts benefits from automated AI-generated chapters and improved content linking. The Apple News app also receives a refreshed layout that highlights popular sections for faster access.
Personalization and Daily Tool Upgrades
With this version, AirPods Live Translation expands into EU regions, supporting more multilingual interactions. Additionally, the new Liquid Glass Lock Screen slider enables precise control over clock transparency across different fonts. Reminders are now capable of triggering alarms and timers for urgent tasks, even through Focus modes, making alerts harder to miss. CarPlay gains the option to disable pinned Messages conversations for a cleaner inbox while driving.
Improved Utility and System Experience
The Measure app introduces an upgraded level interface inspired by Liquid Glass styling, enhancing clarity from multiple viewing angles. Each update continues to support a more streamlined experience, ensuring everyday tools remain useful and accessible. Although an exact launch date has not been confirmed, the final public release is expected this month.
