Hyundai Introduces Hydrogen Buses

Hyundai, in partnership with its UAE distributor Juma Al Majid Company, has delivered two hydrogen fuel cell buses to Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) as part of the Green Bus Programme. This initiative aims to revolutionize public transportation in the UAE capital by integrating sustainable and innovative technologies.

The Green Bus Programme focuses on evaluating and adopting advanced hydrogen and electric-powered bus technologies suited to the local environment. The project also emphasizes skill development for Emiratis through specialized training and international practical opportunities.

Hyundai’s hydrogen-powered buses, the Elec City FC and Universe FC, are now operational on City Route 65 and Regional Route 160, respectively. This collaboration underscores Hyundai’s commitment to sustainable mobility and driving the adoption of clean energy solutions across the region.

Suliman Al Zaben, Director of Hyundai UAE, remarked, “This marks a significant step toward innovative and sustainable transportation solutions in Abu Dhabi.”
