Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Boosts Durability and AI Experience

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold unfolded display

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold keeps a similar design to the previous model, yet it introduces meaningful durability upgrades. It becomes the first foldable to achieve an IP68 rating, giving buyers confidence in water and dust resistance. The phone features a new gearless hinge that adds resistance during folding and unfolding, and therefore reduces the gap when shut.

As a result, fewer dust particles and debris can enter the inner display, improving overall protection. The sturdier build addresses long-standing concerns around hinge strength and foldable screen longevity, especially for users who frequently place devices in pockets or bags.

Hardware, Display, and AI Experience

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold receives the newer Tensor G5 processor, offering smooth performance for everyday usage, although benchmark comparisons show stronger competitors. However, battery capacity increases and the display becomes brighter, making outdoor visibility easier. The device still has noticeably thicker bezels than many modern foldables and slab phones.

Since this is a Pixel phone, it includes several AI-driven features such as real-time call translation, a cross-app suggestion tool, video-enabled Gemini Live, and a camera coach to improve photography. These additions elevate the usefulness of the foldable format and encourage AI-powered multitasking.

Camera Limitations and Overall Position in the Market

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold uses a camera system similar to its predecessor: a 48MP main sensor, 10.8MP telephoto lens, and 10.5MP ultrawide lens, with 10MP sensors for selfies on both the outer and inner displays. Photo output from the main rear lens is sharp, but telephoto and ultrawide results fall short in comparison. Low-light photography remains better on the Pixel 10 Pro slab phone.

Additionally, macro mode triggers too aggressively on small objects, and AI Zoom up to 100x is not offered. Although the “Pro” branding suggests top-tier performance, the foldable trails behind in camera performance, cooling, and charging due to form-factor constraints. Even so, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold provides a sturdier and more premium folding experience than previous models. It remains a solid choice for users prioritising Google’s software ecosystem, AI features, and durability over absolute camera supremacy.
