Google Launches AI-Powered ‘Flight Deals’ for Cheaper Travel

Google Flight Deals AI interface showing flight options

Google has introduced Flight Deals, a new AI tool designed to help travelers find flights easily while securing the best fares. Accessible within Google Flights, the platform allows users to compare ticket prices and book directly through airlines or other travel services. According to Google, “Flight Deals is designed for flexible travelers whose number one goal is saving money on their next trip.”

Instead of manually experimenting with dates, destinations, and filters, users can describe their travel preferences conversationally. Google explained, “You can just describe when, where and how you’d like to travel as though you’re talking to a friend and Flight Deals will take care of the rest.”

Availability and Features

Flight Deals is launching in beta next week in India, the United States, and Canada. Users can access it by visiting Google Flights and selecting the menu in the top-left corner. Google confirmed that the standard Google Flights page will remain fully operational alongside Flight Deals. Additionally, the company is introducing a filter option that excludes economy-class tickets for trips in the US and Canada.

How Flight Deals Works

The tool leverages Google’s advanced AI to understand the nuances of travelers’ requests and identify suitable destinations. Users can input non-specific prompts such as “week-long trip this winter to a city with great food, nonstop only” or “10-day ski trip to a world-class resort with fresh powder.”

Flight Deals then taps into real-time Google Flights data to display up-to-date options from hundreds of airlines and booking sites. Google highlighted, “You’ll see the best bargains available that match your search, including destinations you may not have previously considered.”
