Google is broadening the reach of its AI Mode in Search to more than 180 countries. Previously, the feature was limited to the US, India, and the UK. For now, English remains the only supported language, although the company says more languages will be added soon. With this expansion, Google continues its drive to integrate AI into everyday online experiences.
The company is also enhancing AI Mode with new agentic tools. Users can now find restaurant reservations through natural language requests. For example, people can specify details such as group size, location, cuisine, and preferred date. The system then delivers available options in list form, complete with booking links. Additionally, Google plans to extend these capabilities to event ticketing and service appointments, working with partners like Ticketmaster and StubHub.
Partnerships and Availability
AI Mode relies on several resources, including Project Mariner, Knowledge Graph, Google Maps, and direct partnerships. To strengthen its restaurant booking tool, Google has teamed up with platforms like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock. These integrations aim to streamline the reservation process and widen restaurant coverage. However, the restaurant finder is currently limited to subscribers of the premium Google AI Ultra plan in the US, accessible through Google Labs. Those who opt into the experiment can also benefit from personalized results, as the tool remembers past conversations and searches.
Collaboration and Shared AI Conversations
Beyond search and booking, Google is adding features to make AI Mode more collaborative. With a new share function, users can invite others into an ongoing AI-powered conversation. Once shared, the invited contact can contribute their own follow-up questions. According to Google, this feature could help with tasks like planning trips or organizing parties. Importantly, the original sender retains full control and can delete shared links at any time.
