On June 11, 2025, FUJIFILM Middle East and Africa unveiled its new regional office and Technology Centre (FTC) at Expo City Dubai. This strategic move is set to strengthen the company’s training initiatives and partnerships across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia. The new facility offers hands-on training sessions and live demonstrations, reflecting the company’s aim to enhance user knowledge and product integration.
The FTC will serve professionals from the UAE, Egypt, and Morocco, delivering lectures and practical workshops. By engaging directly with business partners, end-users, and employees, FUJIFILM emphasizes its commitment to collaborative learning and innovation. Furthermore, the company plans to recruit more staff to support the growing needs of the Centre.
Reinforcing Dubai’s Global Business Hub Status
FUJIFILM’s decision to set up its new offices in Expo City was praised by key stakeholders. Ken Okaniwa, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, stated, “We welcome the inauguration of FUJIFILM’s new offices and Technology Centre in Expo City Dubai. I look forward to FUJIFILM’s technologies contributing to better healthcare, promotion of industries and human capacity development.”
In recent years, FUJIFILM has expanded its regional presence significantly. The company has doubled its employee count in markets including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa. This reflects both increasing demand for its technologies and its strategic focus on emerging markets.
Additionally, the firm has signed six Memorandums of Understanding with medical institutions in Saudi Arabia, aiming to drive healthcare efficiency and digitalisation. These efforts are aligned with its broader goal to offer transformative, AI-powered healthcare solutions, such as the planned NURA screening centres.
Supporting Progress with Technology and Collaboration
The Technology Centre will allow visitors to experience FUJIFILM’s solutions first-hand. It is also expected to become a central point for sharing knowledge, facilitating innovation, and encouraging co-creation in the region. According to Masataka Akiyama, President and CEO of FUJIFILM Europe, “Our investment in the new offices and FUJIFILM Technology Center is a powerful enabler for product showcases, including a full-fledged center with hands-on training and lectures delivered by professionals in the UAE, Egypt, and Morocco. We are now also inviting imaging and printing experts to our new Dubai office space to facilitate the exchange of ideas and support the delivery of unrivaled solutions to our customers. The FUJIFILM Technology Center will be invaluable asset in the efforts to leverage our rich heritage of innovation and continue to serve as a benchmark for progress in the region.”
Manal AlBayat, Chief Engagement Officer at Expo City Dubai, echoed the sentiment: “With its technologies used in vital sectors and its commitment to knowledge-sharing, FUJIFILM’s choice of Expo City Dubai for its new offices and Technology Center reinforces the city’s position as a hub for global businesses driving innovative solutions in the UAE and beyond.
