DEWA to Revolutionize Operations with Generative AI Integration Using Microsoft Copilot
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced its strategic initiative for 2025 to integrate generative AI across all its operations using Microsoft Copilot. This move aims to elevate operational efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and solidify DEWA’s position as a trailblazer in government-driven technological innovation.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, reaffirmed the organization’s alignment with H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision to embrace cutting-edge technologies. “At DEWA, we proactively shape the future by adopting innovative digital solutions in line with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, enhancing the nation’s competitiveness and paving the way for sustainable growth in energy and water sectors,” said Al Tayer.
DEWA’s adoption of AI began in 2017, making it one of the first utility providers globally to implement Microsoft Copilot. The authority has expanded its AI capabilities to cover a broad range of services, including its virtual assistant, Rammas, information security, human resources, financial data, governance, and customer service platforms. These advancements underscore DEWA’s commitment to leveraging generative AI for increased productivity, employee satisfaction, and enhanced digital experiences.
With its innovative applications of AI, DEWA continues to drive forward the UAE’s digital transformation agenda and sets a benchmark for utility providers worldwide.
