Apple Reportedly Developing ‘Confetti,’ an iCloud-Based Event Planning Service

Apple is reportedly working on a new iCloud-based service called ‘Confetti,’ designed to enhance event invitations and organization across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this feature may be part of a broader overhaul of Apple’s Calendar app, with internal employee testing expected to begin soon.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman describes ‘Confetti’ as a tool aimed at improving how users manage invitations for gatherings, meetings, and functions. While it is unclear whether the service will launch as a standalone app or be integrated into existing Apple platforms, it is rumored to debut with iOS 18.3, which began rolling out last Monday.

The first hints of this feature surfaced in January when 9to5Mac identified references to an ‘Invites’ app in iOS 18.3’s code. Reports indicate that this app will integrate with iCloud and have a web-based version on iCloud.com. Additionally, Apple has introduced a new system feature called GroupKit, designed to manage user groups. Though GroupKit has been present since iOS 18.0, no Apple app has utilized it until now.

Speculation suggests that ‘Confetti’ will enable users to track event invitations, confirm attendee participation, and possibly integrate with other Apple services like iMessage. If Gurman’s insights prove accurate, Apple employees could begin testing the service soon, hinting at a potential public release in the near future.
