Shams Business Center Sharjah AI Training
Sharjah Media City (Shams) has trained more than 700 participants from 50 government entities and institutions through its Shams AI Club. Announced on October 8, 2026, the milestone highlights Sharjah’s efforts to strengthen AI skills across the public sector.

The initiative combines foundational learning with practical workshops. Moreover, it helps government professionals apply AI tools to everyday responsibilities, improve productivity, and explore new ways of working.

Practical AI Training for Government Professionals

The Shams AI Club covers several areas of applied AI. These include AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, productivity tools, task automation, data analysis, and content creation. In addition, the programme addresses the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.

Participants can experiment with AI tools and apply their knowledge to real workplace tasks. Consequently, the programme aims to move employees beyond theoretical understanding and toward practical use across government functions.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Director of Information Technology at Shams, said the participation figures reflect growing interest in AI skills. He also stressed the importance of training that helps government employees use emerging technologies in their daily work.

Shams Expands AI Learning Across Sectors

The Shams AI Club serves as a platform for learning and experimentation. While government employees form a central audience, the initiative also welcomes private-sector professionals, entrepreneurs, media professionals, content creators, and students.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Al Sharhan, Head of the Creativity and Artificial Intelligence Department at Shams, highlighted the value of hands-on learning. He said participants can explore AI capabilities, test tools, and apply them to daily tasks.

The latest milestone builds on an earlier phase announced in August 2026, when more than 300 professionals from 16 government entities had joined the workshops. Since then, the programme has expanded its reach to 50 entities.

Ultimately, Shams aims to strengthen digital readiness and support Sharjah’s knowledge-based economy. As public institutions adopt more AI tools, practical training will remain important for improving performance, encouraging responsible use, and building confidence in emerging technologies.
