Anthropic is expanding its Claude Startups program with new benefits for early-stage companies. The package includes a free year of Claude Team and $1,000 in Claude API credits.
The program also offers access to startup-focused tools and support. In addition, participating companies can receive offers worth up to $45,000 from Anthropic partners.
The company said the initiative aims to help founders build products with Claude from an early stage.
Free Claude Team Access for Startups
Approved startups can receive one year of Claude Team at no cost. The offer covers up to 5 Premium seats for companies new to Claude Team.
Alongside the Team plan, companies receive a one-time $1,000 credit for the Claude API. Therefore, startups can use the credits to connect Claude models to their own products and services.
The API credits become available after approval. However, they expire six months after they are granted. They also apply only to Anthropic’s first-party API through Claude Console.
Anthropic estimates the direct benefits of Claude at up to $7,000. That figure assumes five Premium seats for one year plus the $1,000 API credit.
The company is also providing higher API rate limits to members who receive startup credits. As a result, qualifying teams can test and develop applications with greater capacity.
Startup Stack Adds Partner Benefits
The expanded program also introduces the Claude Startup Stack. It provides offers from companies that build tools for AI-native startups.
These benefits cover areas such as engineering, design, data, sales and meetings. Consequently, founders can access discounts and credits across several parts of their operations.
The combined value of these partner offers can reach $45,000. However, the offers come from independent partner companies and remain subject to their individual terms.
Anthropic is also giving members access to virtual office hours. The sessions connect founders with its Applied AI team and run every other week. Each session lasts 45 minutes.
Furthermore, members can participate in Claude Startup events. These include Founder House events, hackathons and meetups.
Anthropic said the program reflects feedback from founders. The company argues that access to models, technical guidance and startup resources can help small teams move from ideas to working products more quickly.
Who Can Apply for Claude Startups?
Startups founded within the past five years can apply. Companies that received funding within the past two years can also qualify. The program remains open to bootstrapped, pre-seed and venture-backed startups.
Applicants need a Claude Console account and a company email address that matches their website domain. They must also provide a short description of what they are building.
Anthropic reviews every application. Most applications receive a decision within minutes, while some require manual review that can take two to three business days.
Meanwhile, startups backed by a venture capital firm in Anthropic’s partner network can qualify for up to $100,000 in additional API credits through their investor.
The expansion gives Anthropic another way to bring startups deeper into its ecosystem. At the same time, it places Claude tools directly within the early development process.
As AI development becomes increasingly accessible to smaller teams, Anthropic is competing for developers at the earliest stages of company building. The expanded Claude Startups program therefore combines model access, technical support and operational benefits in one package.
