First, Gemini in Chrome can now analyse audio and video content beyond YouTube on desktop. Students can use the feature with podcasts, online videos, and recorded lectures.
Once users play the content, Gemini can identify key information, summarise important points, and explain difficult sections. As a result, students can review lengthy educational material without repeatedly searching through recordings.
Moreover, Chrome can generate interactive quizzes directly from the material in an open tab. Students can use lecture notes in Google Docs, research papers, and educational videos to create practice questions.
The feature identifies important concepts and helps learners test their understanding. Therefore, students can use their own study materials to prepare for examinations and identify areas that need further attention.
Google is rolling out the quiz feature in English on desktop in the United States and India. However, the company plans to expand availability to additional regions and mobile devices in the coming months.

Chrome also offers reading tools for students who work with lengthy online material. Immersive Reading removes visual distractions, while adjustable fonts, spacing, and contrast improve readability.
Furthermore, Chrome can read webpages aloud. Its Android AI playback feature can also turn supported content into podcast-style conversations, giving students another way to review learning material.
