YouTube Expands Shopping With Amazon Partnership

YouTube has added Amazon to its YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program, expanding its push into creator-led commerce. The partnership allows eligible U.S. creators to tag Amazon products directly in Shorts, long-form videos, and livestreams.

The move gives viewers a more direct route from product discovery to purchase. At the same time, creators can earn commissions from qualifying sales generated through their tagged recommendations.

Amazon Products Enter YouTube Shopping

Previously, creators promoting Amazon products generally relied on affiliate links placed in video descriptions or other external routes. Now, eligible creators can select available Amazon products through YouTube Studio’s product picker and attach them directly to their content.

YouTube announced the partnership on August 27, 2026. The company said, “Amazon is officially part of the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program!”

Furthermore, Amazon will provide a curated catalog of highly requested and trending products for creators to tag. YouTube also supports auto-tagging, which can identify eligible Amazon products in recent and future uploads when the feature is enabled.

However, the program currently targets eligible creators in the United States. Creators must participate in the YouTube Partner Program and YouTube Shopping affiliate program. They also need an active Amazon Influencer or Amazon Associates account linked to their YouTube channel.

YouTube Pushes Deeper Into Creator Commerce

The Amazon integration fits YouTube’s broader strategy to turn product discovery into a more direct shopping experience. Earlier this year, YouTube expanded its Shopping affiliate program to eligible creators with at least 500 subscribers.

Moreover, YouTube has been building shopping tools across Shorts, videos, livestreams and connected-TV experiences. The company has also introduced features designed to connect creator recommendations with purchasing activity.

The Amazon deal therefore adds one of the world’s largest online retail catalogs to that strategy. Consequently, creators can recommend Amazon products within content where viewers already discover, research and evaluate products.

YouTube’s own data also points to growing commercial activity around creator content. At Brandcast 2026, the company said viewers were 13 times more likely to search for a brand after watching related organic content and five times more likely to purchase.

A Direct Route From Video to Purchase

For creators, the partnership creates another monetization channel without requiring separate product links in descriptions. For viewers, meanwhile, product tags can shorten the journey from watching a recommendation to finding the item on Amazon.

The model also gives YouTube a stronger position in creator-driven commerce. Amazon brings its extensive product selection, while YouTube brings the audience, content and discovery environment.

Nevertheless, access remains limited to eligible U.S. creators at launch. YouTube says tagged products may still be visible globally, and its systems can sometimes match products with trusted local merchant offers for eligible international purchases.

As a result, the partnership marks a significant step in YouTube’s effort to connect entertainment, product discovery and online shopping within the same ecosystem.
