Adobe Launches Unified ChatGPT Creative Plugin
Adobe has launched a unified ChatGPT plugin that brings more than 70 creative and productivity tools into a single conversational experience. The new plugin replaces Adobe’s separate ChatGPT integrations for Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat while expanding access to tools including Firefly, Premiere, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Stock, and more. It is now rolling out globally on ChatGPT web, desktop, ChatGPT Work, and Codex.
Instead of switching between multiple Adobe applications, users can describe the desired outcome in plain language. The plugin then selects the appropriate Adobe tools automatically. As a result, creators can complete complex workflows without deciding which application to open first.
One plugin powers multiple creative workflows
The unified plugin supports image editing, video production, graphic design, document creation, and content publishing through a single interface. Moreover, users can batch edit photos, generate social media campaigns, transform long-form videos into short clips, create presentations, and convert spreadsheets into professionally formatted PDFs.
Adobe says the plugin orchestrates more than 70 professional tools behind the scenes based on each request. Consequently, ChatGPT can combine capabilities from Photoshop, Firefly, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, and other Creative Cloud applications into one workflow. Users can begin as guests, while signing into an Adobe account unlocks Creative Cloud access, Firefly generative AI features, and project continuity across sessions.
Adobe expands its AI platform strategy
The launch reflects Adobe’s broader effort to make its creative software available across leading AI assistants. Earlier integrations brought Adobe tools to ChatGPT through separate plugins. However, the new unified plugin simplifies that experience by providing a single entry point for creative and productivity tasks. Adobe has also expanded integrations with Claude and Copilot, with additional support for Slack and Gemini planned.
Adobe emphasizes that the ChatGPT plugin complements rather than replaces its flagship applications. Professional creators can start projects conversationally inside ChatGPT and continue refining them in full-featured desktop applications when advanced editing is required. Meanwhile, OpenAI continues expanding ChatGPT’s ecosystem through specialized plugins that connect users with external services directly from the conversation.
