QDB Backs Multiverse Computing Series C Funding

QDB Multiverse Computing investment signing

Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has joined Multiverse Computing’s Series C funding round, which targets up to $570 million (€500 million) to accelerate the development of efficient artificial intelligence technologies. The investment places QDB among a global group of strategic investors supporting the Spanish AI company as it expands its AI compression platform for cloud and edge computing.

The funding round values Multiverse Computing at a pre-money valuation of $1.7 billion (€1.5 billion). Moreover, the round is co-led by Forgepoint Capital International, BNPP Solar Impulse Venture Fund, and Bullhound Capital, with participation from HP Inc., Orange Ventures, Scania Invest, Santander Alternative Investments, Tikehau Capital, and several sovereign and institutional investors, including QDB.

Funding to accelerate efficient AI

Multiverse Computing plans to use the new capital to expand its CompactifAI platform, which applies tensor network techniques inspired by quantum physics to compress large AI models. As a result, developers can reduce model size by 80% to 95% while maintaining performance, enabling AI applications to run more efficiently on cloud infrastructure, edge devices, and enterprise hardware.

The company also intends to scale research and development, strengthen global operations, and accelerate commercial adoption across industries. Furthermore, the funding supports Multiverse Computing’s goal of making advanced AI models more affordable by lowering computing, energy, and infrastructure requirements.

QDB strengthens Qatar’s AI ecosystem

QDB’s participation aligns with Qatar’s broader strategy to invest in emerging technologies and build a competitive AI ecosystem. Consequently, the investment gives the country exposure to one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI companies while supporting innovation in efficient and sustainable AI infrastructure.

Multiverse Computing expects the Series C round to accelerate global deployment of its AI compression technology across enterprise, industrial, and cloud environments. Meanwhile, the company says the funding will help meet rising demand for cost-efficient AI as organizations seek to reduce inference costs and optimize hardware utilization without sacrificing model accuracy.
