Dubai Launches Al Freej Gardener Platform
Dubai has introduced the Al Freej Gardener initiative, a new digital platform that allows residents to book licensed gardening and landscaping professionals through the Careem app. The initiative is led by Dubai Municipality in partnership with Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai, and Careem. Consequently, the platform aims to improve service quality while ensuring all providers meet government-approved standards.
The service is scheduled to become available through the Careem app in September. Moreover, it will give residents access to qualified professionals for home gardening, landscaping, irrigation maintenance, and agricultural consultancy through a single digital interface. Officials say the initiative supports Dubai’s vision of creating greener, safer, and more sustainable communities.
Licensed Gardening Services Through One Platform
The Al Freej Gardener platform will connect residents with approved landscaping companies that offer customized service packages. Therefore, users can request routine garden maintenance, irrigation system installation and repairs, landscape improvements, and horticultural advice without searching for individual contractors.
Unlike traditional booking methods, the platform requires participating companies and workers to comply with Dubai’s licensing, safety, and regulatory requirements. In addition, the digital system will help authorities monitor service quality while promoting environmentally responsible gardening practices across residential neighborhoods.
Government and Private Sector Collaboration
The initiative was formally launched after Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, and GDRFA Dubai signed a memorandum of cooperation to accelerate implementation. Consequently, the partnership establishes a coordinated framework for delivering regulated gardening services through digital technology.
Careem will develop and operate the platform while managing the onboarding and verification of participating service providers. Furthermore, the company will support customer service, digital operations, and platform security to deliver a reliable booking experience. The collaboration also includes information sharing, awareness campaigns, and professional training to strengthen compliance across the sector.
