The UAE has introduced a national Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT) to strengthen cybersecurity defenses against future quantum computing threats. Developed in Abu Dhabi through a partnership between the UAE Cyber Security Council and QuantumGate, the platform supports the country’s transition toward quantum-safe encryption across critical infrastructure.
The tool aligns with the UAE National Cryptography Center’s requirements and enhances cybersecurity readiness through large-scale cryptographic discovery, inventory management, and continuous monitoring. As a result, organizations can better identify and manage encryption-related risks before quantum threats become operational.
Strengthening Visibility Across Critical Systems
CDT is designed to map cryptographic assets across complex digital environments while automatically detecting embedded encryption systems. Consequently, organizations gain clearer visibility into cryptographic dependencies, which helps them manage risks more effectively and plan migration toward post-quantum cryptography standards.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti said, “Our partnership with QuantumGate on the national Crypto Discovery Tool is a key step in strengthening the UAE’s cybersecurity posture against emerging quantum threats. As part of the National Post-Quantum Migration Program, sovereign capability to discover, assess, and manage cryptographic assets is essential. By tailoring the tool to the National Cryptography Center’s requirements, we are enabling greater visibility and control for a secure, coordinated transition to post-quantum cryptography, reinforcing the UAE’s position in cybersecurity innovation.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Najwa Aaraj noted that, “Organizations cannot defend against risks they cannot account for. With the Crypto Discovery Tool, we have built a solution that brings that risk into full visibility, enabling organizations to act decisively and migrate with confidence. By working closely with the UAE Cyber Security Council, we are helping translate national ambition into operational readiness, ensuring the UAE’s most critical sectors are protected long before quantum threats become reality.”
National Quantum Security Push Accelerates
The platform is built for deployment across critical infrastructure sectors and supports structured migration to quantum-resilient encryption. Additionally, it provides end-to-end visibility, identifies vulnerabilities, and helps organizations establish secure migration pathways.
Furthermore, the system includes continuous monitoring and compliance functions, allowing real-time tracking of cryptographic assets while keeping organizations aligned with evolving regulations. CDT will also integrate with the National Cybersecurity Index platform, creating a centralized view of the country’s cryptographic readiness to support long-term cybersecurity planning.
