Huawei Cloud Adds GLM-5 to AI Platform
Huawei Cloud has upgraded its Model-as-a-Service platform in Hong Kong, adding support for the GLM-5 large language model. Through this update, the company expands its push to deliver agentic AI capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
At the same time, the upgrade aligns with Huawei Cloud’s broader AI Boost Day initiative. As a result, the platform now integrates advanced open-source models to support enterprise AI development.
MaaS upgrade and GLM-5 integration
The MaaS platform now includes GLM-5, developed by Z.ai. Moreover, this model uses a Mixture-of-Experts architecture with 744 billion parameters and operates with approximately 40 billion active parameters per token.
In addition, GLM-5 was trained on Huawei Ascend chips using the MindSpore framework. Therefore, the model avoids reliance on external GPU ecosystems. Consequently, Huawei strengthens its position in building a vertically integrated AI stack.
Furthermore, GLM-5 demonstrates strong performance in coding and agent-based tasks. As a result, it supports enterprise use cases that require long-context reasoning and complex system execution.
New agent platforms and developer tools
Alongside the MaaS upgrade, Huawei Cloud has introduced previews of CodeArts and AgentArts for international markets. Meanwhile, CodeArts integrates coding models, development environments, and codebases into a unified workflow.
In addition, the platform improves code completion accuracy and reduces token usage. Consequently, enterprise developers can achieve higher efficiency and improved output consistency.
At the same time, AgentArts provides a platform for building and managing AI agents. Therefore, developers can create agents using both low-code and high-code approaches. Moreover, its serverless architecture ensures scalability and reliability across deployments.
