Meta Launches ‘Vibes’ AI Video Feed to Rival TikTok and Reels

Meta Vibes AI video feed interface

Meta has unveiled “Vibes,” a new feature within its Meta AI app on smartphones and meta.ai on PCs. The short-video feed resembles TikTok or Instagram Reels, yet every clip is AI-generated or remixed through Meta’s tools. Users can create new videos using text prompts, upload existing media, or remix clips that already appear in the feed. The prompts used to generate content are displayed as captions, keeping the creation process transparent.

How Vibes works and user experience

The feature is designed as a discovery and creation hub for AI-driven video content. Users can layer music, apply filters, and change visual styles before sharing. Finished clips can be posted to the Vibes feed, sent privately to friends, or cross-posted to Instagram and Facebook Stories or Reels. When an AI video surfaces on Instagram, tapping it redirects viewers to the Meta AI app, where they can remix and generate their own versions.

At launch, Vibes showcases a selection of clips from creators experimenting with the format. The interface includes familiar features such as a like button, remix option, comment section, and sharing tools. A three-dot menu gives options to mute, hide, block, or report videos. Users can also provide quick feedback through thumbs up or thumbs down icons.

A create option in the feed lets users open a prompt box and generate their own clips instantly. Each video highlights the username, soundtrack, and caption, alongside the original text prompt. A plus icon on profile pictures allows viewers to follow creators or view their profiles. Recommendations will become more personalised as people interact more with the feed.

Future plans and additional tools

Beyond Vibes, the Meta AI app functions as the central hub for other AI-powered services. It enables users to manage AI glasses, edit photos and videos, and interact with the AI assistant for ideas and answers. Meta has also partnered with visual artists and creators to refine its generative media tools. These improvements will be released gradually, expanding on the current version of Vibes.
