Asus unveiled the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W at Gamescom 2025, and it aims to redefine esports monitors. Moreover, the display measures 26.5 inches and runs at 2560 × 1440 QHD. Furthermore, the panel reaches 540Hz for peak performance. Meanwhile, the monitor can switch to an ultra-fast 720Hz mode at 1080p for extreme refresh rates. However, some rivals have pushed 750Hz at 1080p using TN panels, which trade off color and viewing angles.
Panel and performance
The PG27AQWP-W uses a tandem OLED design to boost HDR brightness and improve lifespan. Additionally, a glossy coating is applied to enhance perceived vibrancy and deeper blacks. In addition, the panel supports a dual-mode operation that prioritizes speed or resolution as needed. Also, a companion ROG Strix OLED model will offer the same tandem tech at 280Hz while relying on HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC. Therefore, the flagship model stands out with its move to DisplayPort 2.1a bandwidth support.
Design, features and protections
The monitor sports a silver, translucent aesthetic that departs from typical black frames. Moreover, the design includes a large three-blade-style stand, although alternative stand sizes would reduce desk footprint. In addition, Neo Proximity Sensor technology helps protect screens by detecting user distance and switching to black when away. Furthermore, manufacturers are increasingly offering multi-year warranties against OLED burn-in. Finally, the same 4th-generation WOLED tandem panels from major suppliers will likely appear across other brands.
