Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., has been facing mounting pressure to launch generative AI products that can create detailed text answers or produce brand-new images by using information gathered from various digital sources, including the internet. Despite being considered a trailblazer in the AI research field, Google has been criticized by some for its slow pace in rolling out tools and services that are ready for public use. As competitors such as OpenAI Inc. and Microsoft Corp. have released popular generative AI products such as chatbots and image-creating services, concerns have been raised about the potential inaccuracies, aggressiveness, or oddities of the freewheeling conversations and scripts that such products can generate.
