YouTube has rolled out its Recap feature across the main platform, and the update brings users a full yearly overview of their viewing habits. The feature had previously been limited to music listeners, yet the expansion now ties the experience together by analysing interests, watch-time data, and category trends. Adults with eligible accounts can access their Recap through the homepage, the “You” tab, or a dedicated link, as long as the app version is current.
Personalized Insights and Viewing Profiles
The experience generates up to twelve cards that track top channels, most-watched topics, and shifts in behaviour over time. It also assigns a personality category to reflect how people explore content. In addition, viewers who have spent enough time on the music app receive a separate Music Recap with listening highlights. Since these insights cover multiple forms of engagement, users gain a clearer picture of how their preferences evolve each year.
Global Trends of 2025
Alongside this launch, the platform has revealed the most popular trends across creators, songs, and podcasts. These results give users context for their own interests while also adding a broader snapshot of the year’s cultural highlights. With the Recap now integrated into the primary app, YouTube aims to make engagement more informative, more enjoyable, and more personal for its global audience.
