In 2025, Yango Group’s autonomous delivery robots traveled more than 1,300 kilometers without human intervention. That distance is equivalent to a round trip between Dubai and Riyadh. The milestone came after two pilot programs conducted with ROOTS and Expo City Dubai. The announcement was made at the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport, hosted by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA).
At Expo City Dubai, three delivery robots transported meals from cafés and restaurants. They achieved an average delivery time of just seven minutes, while covering more than 800 kilometers. Meanwhile, in Sobha Hartland, two robots partnered with ROOTS for grocery delivery. They completed over 500 kilometers with an average delivery time of 14 minutes. In both pilots, delivery distances reached up to 1.5 kilometers.
These results demonstrate that autonomous delivery can achieve strict performance targets in mapped communities and campus-style zones. Since the robots are fully electric, they also reduce noise pollution and emissions, aligning with Dubai’s environmental vision.
Practical, Scalable, and Sustainable
“Autonomous delivery is not only practical and predictable — it’s partner-ready in Dubai and beyond. We’ve demonstrated performance levels that can scale across neighbourhoods and cities throughout the UAE,” said Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head, Yango Group Middle East.
“Our recent recognition with the Dubai AI Seal affirms our role as a trusted provider of AI solutions, and we are confident that this will drive new partnerships across the innovative solutions within Yango Group’s ecosystem. We are deeply aligned with Dubai’s ambition to become a global leader in AI and build a smarter, more sustainable future.”
Autonomous delivery fits within Yango Group’s larger AI-driven ecosystem, which integrates across several advanced services. This comprehensive strategy supports Dubai’s goal of becoming a leading global hub for artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the launch of YangoAI strengthened this commitment, offering advanced AI technologies and features designed for the GCC.
Expanding Future Services
Yango Group now plans to expand its autonomous delivery services in Dubai. Fleet size and service zones will be adjusted according to customer demand and infrastructure readiness. In addition, the company aims to work with both existing and new partners to extend the reach of its services.
