After introducing the ability to filter chats to business accounts on a previous version of WhatsApp, the company is now working on bringing the same feature to standard WhatsApp accounts in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop.
Last year, WhatsApp has released advanced search filters for business accounts on WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop, by adding some simple filters to quickly find certain chats. This feature is limited to businesses, so standard WhatsApp accounts cannot filter chats by using this feature, but something is going to change in a future update of WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is making it easier to search for unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups. Standard WhatsApp accounts will also be able to use the same feature in a future update of the app, but there is another difference: the filter button will be always visible even when you are not searching for chats and messages.
