VMware Cloud on AWS has been launched in Bahrain

VMware has recently announced the availability of VMware Cloud on AWS in Bahrain, which launched on February 28th in the AWS Middle East (Bahrain) region. This new service is expected to help customers in Bahrain easily move their workloads across VMware cloud environments with optimized access to AWS services, enabling them to enhance their ability to innovate and support their digitization plans.

By bringing VMware’s enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Centre software to AWS bare metal infrastructure, this service aims to provide more secure and scalable options for running enterprise workloads across both virtual machines and containers. Furthermore, it features built-in Kubernetes and optimized access to over 200 native AWS services, including data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, which can help organizations deliver a pragmatic approach to app modernization.

According to Ahmed Auda, VP of METNA Sub-Region at VMware, this collaboration with AWS will help drive the adoption of more secure and cost-effective cloud computing among organizations in Bahrain. Moreover, the new service will help increase their efficiency and agility, and support the digital transformation aims of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

ICT is considered a key pillar of Bahrain’s economic diversification, with the country’s Economic Development Board attracting BD37 million ($98 million) worth of direct investments from 14 prominent international companies in its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in the first three quarters of 2022. The launch of VMware Cloud on AWS in Bahrain is expected to further accelerate the growth and development of the country’s ICT sector, enabling more organizations to benefit from the advantages of cloud computing.
