Dubai’s tourism continues to soar, with 11.93 million visitors recorded between January and August 2024. To make connectivity more convenient, Virgin Mobile UAE has introduced a facial recognition system that allows tourists to activate their eSIM immediately upon arrival. This new feature ensures a seamless start to their UAE journey.

With Virgin Mobile’s fully digital eSIM activation process, tourists can now purchase and activate their eSIM as soon as they clear immigration or Smart Gates, eliminating the need to visit a physical store.

Rob Beswick, Managing Director of Virgin Mobile UAE, emphasized the company’s commitment to using customer-first technology to enhance the mobile experience. “This initiative enables tourists to stay connected right from the airport, allowing them to navigate the city, stay in touch with loved ones, and enjoy their visit with no hassle. It aligns with the UAE’s vision for a digitally connected future,” he said.

In addition to seamless eSIM activation, Virgin Mobile UAE offers a flexible unlimited tourist plan, starting at AED 220, which provides unlimited data and both local and international calls.
