UAE Ranked Second Safest Country in the World in 2025

The United Arab Emirates has been ranked as the second safest country in the world, according to a survey by living database site Numbeo. With a global safety index score of 84.5, the UAE placed just behind the European microstate of Andorra, which scored 84.7. Numbeo’s rankings are based on survey responses collected over the past 36 months, evaluating factors such as crime perception, personal safety at night, and concerns about violent crime, burglary, and discrimination. A higher score indicates a safer environment.

GCC Nations Lead in Safety Rankings

The UAE’s strong performance highlights the region’s commitment to safety, as Qatar (84.2) and Oman (81.7) also secured top-five rankings. The top five safest countries are:
  1. Andorra – 84.7
  2. UAE – 84.5
  3. Qatar – 84.2
  4. Taiwan – 82.9
  5. Oman – 81.7
Other notable mentions in the top 10 include the Isle of Man, Hong Kong, Armenia, Singapore, and Japan.

UAE Cities Dominate Global Safety Rankings

Earlier this year, Abu Dhabi was named the world’s safest city, maintaining its position for nine consecutive years with a safety index score of 88. Dubai followed closely in second place with 83.9, while Sharjah secured third with 83.8. Ras Al Khaimah also ranked among the safest, known for its tranquil environment and natural beauty. The UAE’s emphasis on law enforcement, technology-driven security, and community safety initiatives continues to make it a global leader in security and livability.
