UAE, Malaysia, and Rwanda Unite to Advance AI in Global South
The UAE, Malaysia, and Rwanda have formalized a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across the Global South. Operating under the framework of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) global network, the collaboration emphasizes ethical AI development and governance to support sustainable growth in emerging economies.
This trilateral agreement builds upon the existing C4IR AI Fellowship Program, which was initially established between the UAE and Rwanda at the 2024 World Economic Forum in Davos. By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the three nations have agreed to broaden the program’s reach. The initiative now provides a platform for the exchange of ideas, talent, and technologies between policymakers, researchers, and innovators from various parts of the world.
The partnership signals a unified approach to promoting responsible AI use, especially in areas where digital infrastructure and expertise are still developing. As a result, it strengthens efforts to close the global digital divide and bring advanced technologies to underserved regions.
Focus on Responsible Innovation and Governance
Malaysia’s inclusion in the C4IR AI Fellowship Program introduces new opportunities for collaboration across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
